**********
NEUROMEDIA,
it is the story of three friends, all of a different nationality, all students,
all, just older than 18.
The
first goal, that remains today one of priorities of the association, was the
prevention against AIDS for young people in Europe. For the « medical »
and the « mediatic » goal of the project we chose the name of
NEUROMEDIA for « neuron » and « media ».
The
success of the project was weak. The classic objection was the difference of
culture that prevented all bringing together of prevention programs, and
probably also, to the time, the weakness of the organization and the youth of
its leaders.
On
1994, two years after its creation, one decides to widen goals of the
association. Scouts are the only worldwide youth association, the large
associations are more often federations of federations and others have
humanitarian, caritative, mystical goals or ask some expensive membership. It
doesn't exist a versatile organization where the membership is free and free of
charge. It will be the goal of
NEUROMEDIA.
Statutes
are modified to face new missions and to different laws. After a time of
transition, NEUROMEDIA INTERNATIONAL was created as the head of network of all
other sections.
NEUROMEDIA
has today a clear goal. Among the four elements of this last some initiatives
have been succeeded more that of others. All base itself on a type of compliant
international relation to the slogan « Notre monde est sans frontières »
or more meaningful « Our borders have no frontiers ».
It is most important achievement of our group. It began with the establishment of the classic « pen friendship ».
This
way of relation stays very popular and NEUROMEDIA proposes an efficient service
free of charge.
Many
requests have been made to correspond by Internet and by radio (CB).
For
the meantime only one proposition is made. It is a journey of about 20 days on
July and on August New York Washington DC Los Angeles. This
journey by Amtrack, the American railroad company corresponds to will of
members wanting to discover one of the most attractive nation of the world.
NEUROMEDIA
USA, one of the most powerful sections, negotiates prices of hotel and train to
tightest, is in charge of the change, visas and the accompaniment together with
the other sections. There is one bilingual member per sections.
Before
the success of this program and the request of many Asian and African members, a
journey in the European Union is under survey.
The
European Union is a semi-unified system. The problem of visas is partially
solved. However it remains the problem of languages, exchange and the choice of
the journey with the problem of the United Kingdom and Ireland which won't adopt
the EURO and don't apply Schengen Agreements. The setting up of a program would
have to make itself enough quickly.
Canada,
the Latino America and Oceania are to the program. The situation in South
African Republic doesn't allow opening a program.
Unfortunately
the air ticket is not negotiable for our organization considering the diversity
of members’ participants as for their place of departure. This fact gives back
the journey impossible for a lot of our members.
NEUROMEDIA
is not a travel company. If it organizes such programs that is to allow members
to meet. It is often that some meet again each year, that some meet their pen
friends, that some create professional relations, friendship, or even love.
For
some this moment is the only opportunity to meet their friends and to spend one
moment out of their daily problems.
2.1.3.
The international meetings.
It
is the consecration of the inter-human relation system. The first edition was
organized by NEUROMEDIA UNITED KINGDOM and NEUROMEDIA IRELAND, a symbol, took
place in London (GB) on December 1997.
The
second will take place on August 1998 at Vancouver (CDN) and will be organized
by NEUROMEDIA CANADA and NEUROMEDIA USA in conjunction with the journey.
Members
met by interest and could have organized their activities a lot more.
For
NEUROMEDIA it is important to have contacts and collaborations with
organizations contributing to actions that it leads.
NEUROMEDIA
is member of EuroCASO, the network of the NGO working in the prevention
of AIDS as well as YOUTH AND AIDS. We also participated in PLAY SAFE
IN EUROPE organized by AMARC-Europe and CSV MEDIA.
2.2.2.
Racism and Discrimination.
NEUROMEDIA
is also very active in the domain of racism. As for AIDS, we organize regularly
debates and a report has been published for the opening of the division for
xenophobia on 1995 in the context of the program of the Council of Europe
« All different All Equal». The investment of the organization in
these questions is due to the personality of the American-South-African division
director, Carolyne Hunter.
NEUROMEDIA
is member of UNITED FOR INTERCULTURAL ACTION, STARTING POINT and the
INTERNATIONAL LESBIAN AND GAY ASSOCIATION. It has ties with the CLONG.
From
14 to 22 March 1998, NEUROMEDIA organized the First international week of
action against racism. Conferences have been organized in London (GB),
Montreal (QC, CND), New York (NY, USA) and Pretoria (ZA). The debate on the
citizenship was very important. The Schengen Convention and the « communautarisation »
of the politics of immigration by Amsterdam Treaty was dealt. A report has been
published for UNITED.
The
European construction is important for NEUROMEDIA. NEUROMEDIA was participant
for the public hearings of the European parliament in 1995. It was member of
contact groups on the E.E.I.G and of the General States of the Civil Society of
the EU. It publishes a bulletin on the question, The State of the Union, and
numerous contributions.

Members
that belong to these divisions meet for meetings in local section and for the
international meetings or international meetings since 1997.
2.3.
Inter-professional relations.
NEUROMEDIA
as association of youth is attached to the professional training. It encourages
contacts in the same way between its members with the same training through its
thematic orientation (General Directorates/divisions) and allows some fruitful
professional associations.
2.3.1.
Commercial representations.
This
activity allows the qualified people to represent an organization, or even a
person in a country where it/she/he doesn't have any representatives and where,
by definition, NEUROMEDIA has some. This representation is paying. A part is
reinvested in actions of the association. NEUROMEDIA uses arrangements of the
French law of 1901 to have the possibility to take a part of the payment. Indeed,
it takes no tax from its members and have not many contributions. Nevertheless,
not to break the equality, the members in charge of these missions have right to
a payment. The main advantage is the professional experience, NEUROMEDIA not
being a structure dedicated to the trade.
For
this activity NEUROMEDIA is member of the Office of Bringing together of
Enterprises of the European Union (BRE) and of Transatlantic Electronic
Exchange Service (TIES).
2.3.2.
Laws'Links and L.S.I. LoveSexIntelligence.
It
is for this reason that Laws'Links founded on 1998 should detach itself
progressively of NEUROMEDIA since this structure is charged of legal advice and
international commercial arbitration.
The
membership in this division requires making the proof of 2 years of legal
studies.
L.S.I.LoveSexIntelligence
is in
a similar situation.
This
sector is in full development within our organization. We have good relations
with the C.F.H.S Communication Inc. in Canada and with GENERATION
MEDIA INC. in the United States of America.
GENERATION
TELEVISION will be launched on the North American territory, on Oceania and on
Europe since 1999. The program of this international TV (satellite, cable and
LPTV) is made by and for the international young people of 15 to 30 years.
GENERATION
TELEVISION has for priority to invest in the new technologies and to be ready
for the convergence.
Its
interactive web server will allow its viewers to converse between them and with
the channel without software another one that a navigator. Besides programs will
be available in RealAudio and a large part in real video, particularly its
broadcast on the new technologies.
The
programs, some program translation in French particularly, the musical and film
information, of the channel and of others organisms, will be available Internet,
by teletext, by enrollment, by E-mail.
A
service of contact and announcements between viewers will be available.
The
important diagrams will be reduced to allow connections of low debit and
machines little powerful to get a fast service.
Parts
no interactive and informative will be fully available by teletext.
GENERATION
TELEVISION also foresees to support the connection to Internet by the cable and
the satellite and to develop interactively.
2.4.2.
C.F.H.S Communication Inc.
The
C.F.H.S Communication is a Canadian organization that produces
broadcasts of radios for the north-American distributors.
NEUROMEDIA
considers that the musical choice is very important in Europe and elsewhere and
because of the politics of disk companies more than of the linguistic
differences, some singers cannot be distributed beyond of their borders. The
championship of the Eurovision is meaningful. This year, it’s not an English
language song that won it. NEUROMEDIA wants with the C.F.H.S Communication allow
the improvement of the musical diversity.
